On 18.06.2024,Sh.George Kurien, Hon'ble MoS for Minority Affairs & MoS for Fisheries Animal Husbandry& Dairying visited various divisions of CIFNET, test operated the VHF RT and was appraised about the Central Government scheme on issue of transponders to the fishers.

On 08.11.2024 at CIFNET Kochi a Workshop was conducted on Registration, Survey & Certification of fishing vessels organised by DoF, GoI. Hon'ble MoS for Fisheries, AHD &Minority Affairs, Sh. George Kurian inaugurated the workshop& also the revamped CIFNET website.
