1)CIFNET Conducted Skill Development Training Programme training programme under PMMSY for the fishermen of Lakshadweep during February 2024
CIFNET has conducted a Skill Development Training programme for Fishermen of Lakshadweep Islands from 19 - 28 Feb 2024 in joint collaboration with MPEDA- NETFISH Directorate. of Fisheries, Lakshadweep Administration.The programme is funded by NETFISH under PMMSY scheme.
Sri.M Habibullah ,Director, CIFNET flagged off the voyage of the team onboard MV Prashikshani to Lakshadweep islands on 16.02.24. The target is to train 360 fishermen different Islands of Lakshadweep including Kavaratti, Agaty, Amini, Kadamath, Kilathan, Cheythleth.
The training programme was inaugurated by Sh.V.Santhosh Kumar Reddy, IFS, Secretary, Fisheries, Agriculture, Science & Technology ,UT of Lakshadweep at Fisheries Conference Hall, Kavaratti on 19.02.2024. All the training Officers from CIFNET team, the officers of Fisheries Dept.,Kavaratti, MPEDA-NETFISH and fishermen were present in the function.

1) CIFNET Unit, Chennai conducted One Day Extension Training Programme (Outreach/Awareness programme) under PMMSY Scheme on the topic “Communication and Navigational Equipments onboard Fishing Vessel” for 105 fishermen on 26-04-2024 at Nettukuppam, Ennore, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.
2) One day extension training programme under PMMSY conducted by CIFNET unit Chennai on the topic "defects and troubleshooting of boat engines" for 100 fishermen at Periyakuppam, Ennore Chennai on 30.04.2024
3) One day extension training programme(outreach/Awareness) under PMMSY scheme on the topic “Communication and Navigational equipment’s onboard fishing vessel” was conducted for 100 fishermen at Puthupattinam, Chengalpattu,Tamil Nadu on 27.05.2024
4.CIFNET conducted fishermen extension training programme at Mangrol,Gujarat
5. Skill Development extension training programme on the subject ”Safety at Sea, Marine Electronic equipments, maintenance of engines“ was conducted on 27.07.2024 at Satpati, Maharashtra for 100 fishermen.
6. 3 days Skill Development training programme on the subject ”Life Saving and Fire fighting appliances & Electronic Equipments“ was conducted from 29.07.2024 to 31.07.2024 at Dhakti,Dahanu, Maharashtra.
